MP of the Week

Politics 360º is a blog that looks at politics from all sides, breaking down important news for everyone to understand. Whether you’re from the UK or beyond, everyone should be able to grasp all the happenings in Westminster Politics and we should also be able to fathom the work that is conducted by our representatives, our MPs. That’s where ‘MP of the Week’ comes in…

Being a politician is no easy task, being scrutinised not only by your fellow colleagues and your constituents but by the media too. No wonder few people liken to following such a carer path eh!

But at Politics 360º we want to ensure those politicians feel appreciated by acknowledging all that they do. So every week, we follow the work of MPs and select one to be our MP of the Week! The criteria isn’t narrow; they can be from any political party and can be chosen for the most subtlest of things like quoting Stormzy in Parliament, to fighting for the rights of the most vulnerable in our society. Featured MPs of the Week include:

Stella Creasy, MP for Walthamstow (Labour)

Laura Pidcock, MP for North West Durham (Labour)

Sarah Jones, MP for Croydon (Labour)

Vince Cable, MP for Twickenham (Liberal Democrat)

Yvette Cooper, MP for Normanton, Pontefract, Castleford & Knottingley

Diane Abbot, MP for Hackney North & Stoke Newington

Johnny Mercer, MP for Plymouth Moor View

If you’d like to participate and nominate an MP to feature on the homepage, get involved and submit your details. It could be an MP you think has really made an impact this week or a politician who’s cracked a joke worth spreading! Politics doesn’t have to be all burecracy and red tape!

All featured MPs will be updated on this page and you can use this as inspiration to nominate  your next MP of the Year, courtesy of the Patchwork Foundation.
